Veda · OUT OF PURE CURIOSITY

How does light become electricity?

Turn a solar panel and compare its output

Angle changes the light received

The angle is measured between the rays and the perpendicular to the panel. At 0° light hits directly; at 90° it travels along the panel. With unchanged illumination, ideal output is proportional to the cosine of this angle.

P = P₀ × cos(θ)

For adults · discuss together

Only the angle of direct light is modelled. Temperature, diffuse light, efficiency and losses are not calculated. Output is shown as a relative percentage.

Before experience

Ask: “What do you think will happen?” Let the child check his guess first.

After the experience

What has changed? What remains the same? Where can you notice a similar phenomenon?
